Functional Safety in reliability engineering refers to the aspect of safety that focuses on ensuring that safety-critical systems perform their intended functions correctly under all circumstances, particularly in the event of a failure. It is an essential part of reliability engineering that focuses on identifying and managing risks associated with the failure of safety-related systems, especially in industrial, automotive, aerospace, and other high-risk sectors.

Usage of Module/Methods

For the functional safety, reliability prediction, Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Reliability Block Diagram (RBD), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) can be used. Including the various standards and regulations applicable to their industry, such as IEC 61508 and ISO 26262.

ARE YOU FACING ANY OF THESE PROBLEMS?

  • System fails or facing the malfunctions
  • Mitigate the hazardous events
  • Facing safety and Risk Management crisis
  • Unable to identify the risk prone components/system
  • Unable to minimize the risk for environment, people or system

HOW SIMCAD CAN HELP

We offer the functional safety analysis and provides the optimum solutions like:

  1. To identify the hazardous component and prevent their probable consequences.
  2. To do the risk assessment and hazard analysis.
  3. To estimate the reliability of component/system and help to develop the safety instrumented system
  4. Help to develop the redundancy to prevent the functional failure & develop the fail free design
  5. Preparing for various level SIL certification for Safety case.
